Catherine and Gilles Lafontaine welcome you to their
restaurant, the Saint Etienne, in an ancient 18th century setting, complete with
traditional French beamed ceiling and fireplace of the same period. |

| Gilles Lafontaine, native of the Morvan, son of a
long-standing family of butchers and caterers, has returned to his home region to open a
restaurant, after 25 years at the Georges V hotel in Paris, where he was a chef when it
closed temporarily in 1997. |

During his career, Gilles Lafontaine has workd with many famous
chefs : Bocuse in Lyon, Lenôtre in Paris. He was also been sent by the hotel management
to the luxury hotels owned by the group in the Gulf Emirates, in order to give
demonstrations of French cuisine.
He was also contributed, as a chef, to wedding reception, birthday parties and other
important occasions in other famous luxury hotels, as well as receptions for his highness
Aga Khan. |
| Catherine will guide you in your choise, and will be
pleased to explain how the dishes are prepared, and will even disclose some of the chef's
secrets. Gilles
Lafontaine try to convey his passion for his region, the Morvan, through his choice of
produce and local dishes.
The Saint Etienne is open all year round except from mid-january to mid-february. Closed
on wednesdays and thursdays.
